Word Slot
01Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Word Slot (developed by Indie Core Dev) handles your information when you use our game. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a safe experience for all users.
02Personal Information
We do not ask you for your name, email address, phone number, or precise location, and we do not sell any information about you. You can play the entire game without ever seeing a login screen.
To save your progress and place you on the leaderboards, the game creates an anonymous account through Firebase Authentication the first time you play. This account is a random identifier generated by Google — it is not linked to your name, your email, or any account you own, and it is created automatically without any input from you. Section 4 explains what is stored under it.
Some third-party services we use (such as Google AdMob and Firebase) may process limited device identifiers — for example, an advertising ID — to provide ads and gather anonymized analytics. These uses are described in the sections below and are governed by the relevant provider's privacy policy.
03Player Name
The leaderboards show a display name next to each score. The game suggests one automatically (for example, "Player 8F3C", derived from your anonymous ID), and you can change it at any time in the game's settings. This name is entirely your choice and can be anything you like — please do not enter your real name, email address, or any other information you would not want other players to see, since the name appears publicly on the leaderboards.
04Cloud Save & Leaderboards
Word Slot uses Firebase Firestore (a Google service) to save your progress and to run its leaderboards. Two kinds of records are stored, both under the anonymous account described in Section 2:
- Cloud save (private). Your game progress — completed stages, stars, coins, power-ups and in-game settings. This record is readable and writable only by your own account. No other player can see it, and it contains no personal information about you.
- Leaderboard entry (public). If you appear on the all-time or weekly board, a small record is stored containing your anonymous ID, your chosen display name, your total stars, your number of cleared stages, and the time it was last updated. Nothing else. This record is visible to other players inside the game — that is the point of a leaderboard.
The weekly board is keyed by calendar week, so each new week starts from an empty board. For details on how Firebase handles data, see the Firebase Privacy and Security page.
05Optional Sign-In
Signing in with Google or Apple is completely optional and exists for one reason only: to carry your progress to a new device. If you never sign in, your progress stays tied to the anonymous account on the device you play on.
When you do sign in, the sign-in is handled entirely by Google or Apple and by Firebase Authentication. They may pass your account identifier — and, depending on the provider, your email address — to Firebase in order to link it to your existing anonymous account. The game itself does not read, display, store, or use that email address for anything, and we never add you to a mailing list or contact you through it. Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email" option works normally.
06Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how players interact with the game and where they get stuck, so we can improve level design and fix problems. Firebase may collect anonymized usage data such as session length, screens viewed, levels started and completed, stars earned, ads watched, and settings toggled. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
For more details, see the Firebase Privacy and Security page.
07Crash Reporting
We use Firebase Crashlytics to monitor, log, and analyze crash reports. This helps us keep the game stable. Crash reports are associated with the anonymous account identifier described in Section 2 so that repeated crashes affecting one player can be recognized as the same issue; they contain no personal identifiers.
08Notifications
Word Slot may send you optional reminders — for example, when a daily reward is ready. These are local notifications: they are scheduled by the app on your own device and do not require an internet connection. We do not use push notifications, and no notification token or message is sent to or from any server.
You can turn notifications off at any time in the game's settings, or in your device's system settings.
09Third-Party Services & Ads
Our game displays advertisements — banners, interstitials, and optional rewarded ads you choose to watch in exchange for in-game coins — using the following ad provider:
- AdMob (by Google)
These ad networks may use device identifiers, IP address, and cookies to show you relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized ads via your device settings.
The other third-party services used by the game are Google's Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, and Crashlytics, described in the sections above. We do not use any advertising SDK or tracking service beyond those listed here.
10In-App Purchases
Our game does not offer in-app purchases (IAPs). Coins and power-ups are earned by playing or by watching optional rewarded ads, and cannot be bought with real money. We never handle payment information of any kind.
11Children's Privacy
Our game is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from users in this age group. If you believe we have unknowingly collected personal information from a child, please contact us at contact@indiecore.net.
12Offline Use
You can play Word Slot offline. Your progress is always saved on your device first, and syncs to the cloud the next time you have a connection. Ads, leaderboards, and cloud save require an internet connection; local notifications do not.
13Data Sharing
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party. Your leaderboard entry (display name, stars, stages) is visible to other players inside the game by design, as described in Section 4. Any data handled by third-party services (like AdMob or Firebase) is governed by their respective privacy policies.
14Data Storage & Retention
Game progress and settings are always saved locally on your device. Cloud save and leaderboard records are stored by Google Firebase on our behalf and are retained until you delete them (see Section 15) or until we retire the game's backend. Weekly leaderboard entries become inactive once their week ends. We do not operate any server of our own, and we do not keep copies of your data anywhere else.
15Your Rights
The game includes a "Delete My Data" button in its settings. Using it permanently deletes your cloud save and removes your entries from both the all-time and weekly leaderboards, including the display name you chose. This action cannot be undone.
You can also remove all local data by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's storage. For data handled by third-party services (such as Google AdMob and Firebase), you may exercise your rights through Google's own settings and privacy tools. If you have any concerns about how your information is handled, or would like us to delete data on your behalf, you may contact us at the address below.
16Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
